After three weeks of sporadic toil, the groundwork for the cafe is finally complete!
We have the Morgans largely to thank. Braving the Lansdown wind and drizzle, Keegan and his father spent the whole day putting down an extra membrane and wheelbarrowing bark from the road onto the large area in front of and around the shed.
It was a real physical work out with just the two of them, made even harder be the relentless poor weather. Our thanks go to both Paul and Keegan. True Smurf heroes! It is hoped we can get the roof done at the weekend before Christmas.
Following two weeks of giving from the families of the Bath & Wiltshire SFA players, Jo Goulding was able to hand over 15 hampers.
Jo and her two sons Marc and Matthew met up with Lucy Dow from the charity HVDV (Helping Victims of Domestic Violence). She was thrilled to receive the donations and mentioned that every item will be welcomed with open arms.
We would like to thank all the boys and their families for being so kind and organising everything at short notice during these difficult times. Special thanks to Jo Goulding who organised the appeal.

Appeal from the kokrobite chiltern centre in Kokrobite
At this time of year we’re usually in the midst of a wrapping frenzy as we work towards the children’s Christmas Party and this year would have been our 17th. Sadly, as with many other things Covid-19 has forced us to have a rethink. We’re determined that the children should still have a special time that’s all about them so instead of the party we’re holding the Great Christmas Takeaway on 23 December. We’ll abide by all the protocols, as we do already, and the children will still be able to collect their food, drink and a wrapped present. We’re aiming to cater for 1200 children and with a bit of help we’ll be able to do this. A little really does go a long way here so please support us if you can and please share the link with family and friends.
The Trust plans to do the final ground works for the pop up cafe at Lansdown playing fields next weekend.
As well as clearing an area of brambles, we need to dig up rock and roots to prepare the ground for the bark we wish to lay down to the front and sides of the hut. We also need to put the felt on the roof.
If you would like to join us, then please let Shane Kiely know on email@example.com
