Values project gets underway

The Trust is based on the four values Resilience – Compassion – Responsibility – Curiosity.

In order to take part in the free football coaching programme run by the Trust and in order to represent the areas of BANES and Wiltshire, the young participants commit to fundraising £150.00 over the course of the season.  Whilst many go over the target, it is the process that counts.  It is important that they use the four values to fundraise the money.  Over the course of the year it is fantastic to witness how the youngsters develop a better understanding of the values, and hence a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Here is an insight into some of the youngsters’ journeys.

Charlie & Barney

He and Barney raised money through sponsorship for doing the Battle of Lansdown 5k challenge. They both did really well, had loads of fun and got very muddy!

U11 Jacob

Jacob completed a sponsored run doing 10 laps of Corston Field and Brook. The attached sponsorship form is what he put together to describe what and why he was doing.  He managed to run 10 laps in the end (9km), which was pretty good going. This is a video of the first few and last lap he did.

He managed to raise a total of £160 in total, £120 will go to BWB and £40 will go to Julian House.

U12 Harry
This season has been fantastic.  I have been lucky to be given many opportunities, including playing in Sweden and Germany – I learnt a lot about being more independent and thinking for myself.
For my values project I have currently made £65.00. I made this by caring and carrying out chores for my Nan and great Nan who have both been very poorly this year.
I have also carried out training sessions at my grassroots team and old school. I won a competition of £25 which has helped top up the money I’ve raised. I will carry out the rest of my values project over Christmas and January.
